Combining archival research with narrative storytelling, she writes novels and biographies that revive the lives of remarkable, often overlooked historical figures—especially women. Her internationally translated works include Artemisia, Fanny Stevenson, Between Love and Honor, The Woman of a Thousand Names, Belle Greene, and The Very Secretive and Passionate Stella Miles Franklin.
