Between Love and Honor

Set in 1839 during the fragile peace between the Russian army and the Muslims of Chechnya, this historical novel follows Jamal Eddin, the son of warrior chief Imam Shamil, who becomes a pawn in a larger conflict. After being taken to Russia, he is adopted by Czar Nicholas and immersed in court life, all while grappling with his Muslim faith and a burgeoning romance with a Russian aristocrat. As he faces the dilemma of converting to Christianity for love, Jamal Eddin must also confront his responsibilities to his homeland and the Muslim community. Based on true events, the story highlights the struggle between love and duty amid historical turmoil.
