Kathryn Stockett is an American novelist born and raised in Jackson, Mississippi. After graduating from the University of Alabama, she worked for nine years in magazine publishing and marketing in New York City before publishing her debut novel, The Help, in 2009. The Help became a global bestseller and was adapted into an Academy Award-winning film; her second novel, The Calamity Club, was published in 2026.
