Laila Ibrahim is a bestselling novelist and the author of Yellow Crocus, Mustard Seed, Golden Poppies, Scarlet Carnation, Falling Wisteria, Paper Wife, and After the Rain (also published as Living Right). Her writing career grew from her work as a preschool director, birth doula, and religious educator, experiences that inform her multigenerational stories about family, race, identity, and social justice. She studied human development at Mills College and San Francisco State University and lives in Berkeley, California.
