Absolution by Murder

In AD 664, King Oswy of Northumbria summons a synod at Whitby to resolve a pivotal conflict between the Roman and Celtic Christian Churches, with the potential to determine the survival of one in the Saxon kingdoms. Tensions escalate when the murder of Abbess Etain, a prominent advocate for the Celtic Church, raises suspicions against the Roman faction. To prevent civil strife, Oswy enlists Sister Fidelma and Brother Eadulf to uncover the truth, but as more killings and a treasonous plot unfold, they race against time to restore order and identify the culprit.
