Beloved Woman

In the early 20th century, Bessie Elliott navigates the personal and societal upheavals on secluded Stone Mountain, where the impacts of a great war and the Spanish flu challenge her role as a healer. As she treats the afflicted and combats an outbreak, Bessie also champions a young woman embroiled in a community controversy, while actively participating in the suffragette movement for women's rights. When a family member makes a troubling choice that could harm a child, Bessie feels compelled to intervene and make things right.
