Hannah Arendt (1906–1975) was a German-American political theorist and author whose writing examined totalitarianism, political power, revolution, freedom, authority, judgment, and the human condition. Her major works include The Origins of Totalitarianism, The Human Condition, Eichmann in Jerusalem, On Revolution, Between Past and Future, and the posthumously published The Life of the Mind. She also wrote biographies, essays, literary criticism, and philosophical studies.
