M.J. Akbar is an Indian author, journalist, editor, and columnist whose writing career spans history, politics, religion, and society. He has written acclaimed nonfiction about the Indian subcontinent, including Nehru: The Making of India, Kashmir: Behind the Vale, The Shade of Swords, Tinderbox, and After Me, Chaos, as well as the novel Blood Brothers. He also founded and edited major Indian publications, including Sunday and The Telegraph.
