Malcolm X (1925–1965) was an American activist, religious leader, and influential nonfiction author whose writing centered on race, identity, religion, and Black liberation. He collaborated with Alex Haley on The Autobiography of Malcolm X, published posthumously in 1965, and his speeches, interviews, and political writings were later collected in numerous books and recordings.
