Ada Ferrer is a Cuban-American historian and author who writes about Cuba, Latin America, the Caribbean, slavery, emancipation, and revolutions. Her books include Insurgent Cuba: Race, Nation, and Revolution, 1868–1898; Freedom’s Mirror: Cuba and Haiti in the Age of Revolution; and Cuba: An American History, which won the 2022 Pulitzer Prize for History. She is the Dayton-Stockton Professor of History at Princeton University and has also written a family memoir exploring Cuban migration and exile.
