Alexander Rose is an American-born historian and author who grew up in Australia and Britain and earned a doctorate in history from Cambridge. After working as a journalist, he built a writing career focused on narrative history, especially espionage, warfare, politics, and technology. His books include Washington's Spies, which became the basis for the AMC series Turn: Washington's Spies, as well as Men of War, Empires of the Sky, The Lion and the Fox, and Phantom Fleet; he also served as a writer and producer on the television adaptation.
