Nina Willner is an award-winning American nonfiction author whose books draw on family history, wartime experiences, and Cold War history. Her debut, Forty Autumns (2016), is a memoir about her family’s separation behind the Berlin Wall, while The Boys in the Light (2025) tells the World War II story of her father and the American soldiers who helped rescue him. Before becoming a full-time narrative nonfiction writer, Willner served as a U.S. Army intelligence officer and worked internationally on human rights and rule-of-law initiatives.
