Dale Maharidge is an American journalist, author, and Columbia Journalism School professor whose career began in newspaper reporting before expanding into literary nonfiction, memoir, social commentary, and fiction. His collaborations with photographer Michael Williamson documented poverty and working-class America, and And Their Children After Them won the 1990 Pulitzer Prize for General Nonfiction. He has also written about economic inequality, war trauma, surveillance, and rural California, including the novel Burn Coast.
