John Mack Faragher is an American historian and author who served as the Howard R. Lamar Professor Emeritus of History and American Studies at Yale University. His writing career focuses on American history, especially the American West, frontiers, migration, colonialism, and social change. His books include Women and Men on the Overland Trail, Daniel Boone, A Great and Noble Scheme, Frontiers, Eternity Street, and California.
