Dominique Lapierre (1931–2022) was a French journalist, war correspondent, and bestselling author. He became known for deeply researched historical narratives, often written with Larry Collins, including Is Paris Burning?, O Jerusalem, and Freedom at Midnight. He also wrote internationally popular novels and narrative nonfiction such as The City of Joy, Beyond Love, and A Rainbow in the Night, drawing on extensive reporting and travel.
