T. E. Lawrence (1888–1935), also known as Lawrence of Arabia, was a British writer whose literary reputation rests chiefly on Seven Pillars of Wisdom, his expansive autobiographical account of the Arab Revolt. He also published the abridged memoir Revolt in the Desert, wrote The Mint about his service in the Royal Air Force, and produced a prose translation of Homer's Odyssey. His vivid, reflective prose blends memoir, military history, travel writing, and literary nonfiction.
