William Kamkwamba is a Malawian author and inventor best known for his New York Times bestselling memoir The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind, co-written with Bryan Mealer. The book recounts how he built a wind turbine from scrap materials as a teenager during a famine in Malawi and has since been published in adult, young-reader, and children's editions and adapted into a feature film.
