Bryan Mealer is an American journalist and nonfiction author from Odessa, Texas. After studying journalism at the University of Texas at Austin, he worked as a city reporter, an assistant editor at Esquire, and a freelance reporter in Africa before becoming an Associated Press correspondent in Kinshasa. His books include All Things Must Fight to Live, The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind, Muck City, and The Kings of Big Spring; his work has also appeared in major magazines and travel-writing anthologies.
