Jack Weatherford is an American anthropologist and nonfiction author best known for making complex histories accessible to a broad readership. His books explore the influence of Native American cultures, the history of money, and the political and cultural legacy of the Mongol Empire, including the bestselling Genghis Khan and the Making of the Modern World. He taught anthropology at Macalester College for many years and has divided his time between the United States and Mongolia.
