Craig Childs is an American nonfiction writer, naturalist, and wilderness explorer whose books combine field experience, science, archaeology, and journeys through the American West and other remote landscapes. He is the author of more than a dozen books, has contributed to publications including The New York Times, Outside, Orion, and High Country News, and has been a regular commentator for NPR’s Morning Edition.
