Terry Tempest Williams is an award-winning American writer whose career began with the children’s nature book The Secret Language of Snow in 1984. She is best known for Refuge: An Unnatural History of Family and Place and has published seventeen books of creative nonfiction, essays, memoir, and nature writing rooted in the American West. Her work explores ecology, wilderness preservation, environmental and social justice, women’s health, spirituality, and humanity’s relationship with place.
