Audrey Niffenegger is an American author, visual artist, and educator best known for her debut novel, The Time Traveler's Wife (2003), an internationally bestselling science-fiction romance later adapted for film and television. Her second novel, Her Fearful Symmetry (2009), expanded her reputation for blending speculative ideas with romance, gothic atmosphere, and the uncanny. She has also created graphic novels, illustrated books, short fiction, and artists' books.
