Carmen Maria Machado is an American author of fiction, nonfiction, essays, poetry, criticism, and graphic narratives. She is best known for the award-winning short-story collection Her Body and Other Parties and the bestselling memoir In the Dream House, and her work has appeared in publications including The New Yorker, The New York Times, Granta, Vogue, and Harper’s Bazaar. She holds an MFA from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop and has received honors including the Bard Fiction Prize, Lambda Literary Awards, and Shirley Jackson Award.
