A Few Bumps in the Road

Judith Johnson relocates to Kansas with her younger brother as a mail-order bride following the death of their parents. Despite her charming but troubled husband, Calvin, who struggles with womanizing and alcoholism, Judith is determined to persevere and make her marriage work. Living on a farm in the challenging prairie environment of 1850, she finds some solace in Calvin’s responsible older brother, but their situation raises questions about faith and resilience in the face of hardship.
