A Bride of Convenience

In 1863, unemployed mill worker Zoe Hart seizes the chance to emigrate to British Columbia to reunite with her brother, who has gone into hiding. While in Victoria, she teams up with Abe Merivale, a pastor to miners, to care for an abandoned baby, all while dealing with the fallout from Abe's broken engagement. Facing pressure to secure a future for the infant, Zoe accepts a questionable marriage proposal, prompting Abe to offer a proposal of his own. Their ensuing union, initially meant to be convenient, quickly reveals unforeseen complications.
