Janice Cole Hopkins grew up in the Appalachian Mountains and began writing stories in childhood. After earning a master’s degree and teaching, she published magazine work under the name Janice Cole Gibson; while caring for her mother, she wrote her first novel and began a prolific fiction career. She writes primarily Christian fiction, especially historical romances and westerns, with many stories rooted in Appalachian and frontier settings.
