In a spirited October filled with Halloween festivities in Gold Rush country, the town is abuzz as it honors Angus Sprockles, its historic landmark figure, while his descendant, Moses Sprockles, prepares for a Halloween-themed fundraiser on his narrow-gauge railroad. The atmosphere takes a chilling turn when Moses is found dead on the tracks, prompting Dee's detective instincts to kick in. As she navigates a colorful cast of suspects—including a former child star, a savvy salon owner, and the mayor—Dee partners with a self-proclaimed ghost hunter to unravel the mystery and confront a potential killer.
