On Christmas Day 1943, the body of Polish SOE agent Krystina Kowolska is discovered in the gardens of a country house in Arisaig, Scotland, raising questions about her untimely death. Investigator Jan Kalisz, a double agent from Warsaw, is sent to uncover the truth behind her murder, tasked by Winston Churchill himself to prevent a rift between Britain and Poland.
