Private detective Bill Smith is thrust into a deeply personal investigation when he receives a late-night call from the NYPD regarding his 15-year-old nephew, Gary. After Gary unexpectedly vanishes into the night, Bill and his partner, Lydia Chin, embark on a desperate search that leads them to a small New Jersey town plagued by the recent murder of one of Gary's classmates. As they uncover unsettling connections to a long-buried crime, Bill must confront both the mystery at hand and the shadows of his own past to save his nephew and himself.
