S. J. Rozan is an American mystery and crime-fiction writer who was born and raised in the Bronx and worked for more than twenty years as an architect in New York City. She is best known for the award-winning Lydia Chin/Bill Smith private-investigator series, along with standalone novels, short stories, anthologies, and paranormal thrillers co-written under the name Sam Cabot. Her fiction has won major honors including the Edgar, Anthony, Shamus, Nero, and Macavity Awards.
