Laura Lane McNeal grew up in New Orleans, earned degrees from Southern Methodist University and an MBA from Tulane University, and spent much of her career in advertising before becoming a marketing consultant, freelance writer, and decorative artist. After Hurricane Katrina in 2005, she pursued her lifelong dream of writing. Her debut novel, Dollbaby, was published in 2014 and is set in Civil Rights-era New Orleans.
