Shirley Perez West is a writer whose career followed years as a journalist and public relations professional. Drawing on her San Francisco Peninsula roots and extensive research into California’s Mexican Californio history, she writes historically grounded fiction about overlooked voices in the Western saga. Her work has appeared in the short-fiction anthologies Midnight in the Garden and Echoes, the poetry collection Sheltering, and her debut novel Dreams of Earth and Sky.
