Jeffrey Angles is an American poet, literary translator, editor, and scholar of modern Japanese literature. He writes poetry in English and Japanese and has translated numerous works of modern and contemporary Japanese poetry and fiction, including Angel at the Earth's Extreme by Nakahara Chūya. His Japanese-language poetry collection Watashi no hizukehenkōsen won the Yomiuri Prize for Literature, and he is a professor of Japanese and translation at Western Michigan University.
