Sonia Velton is a British author who began her fiction career with the historical novel Blackberry and Wild Rose, set among Huguenot silk weavers in eighteenth-century London. The novel was shortlisted for the Lucy Cavendish Fiction Prize and longlisted for the HWA Debut Crown, and was later optioned for film. Her subsequent novels include the contemporary literary thriller The Image of Her and the historical novel The Nightingale’s Castle; she now writes full-time from Kent.
