Christopher Reid (born 1949) is a British poet, essayist and cartoonist, born in Hong Kong and educated at Oxford. His debut collection, Arcadia (1979), established his reputation as a leading voice associated with the “Martian” school of poetry. He later served as poetry editor at Faber & Faber, worked with Ted Hughes, and won the Costa Book of the Year for A Scattering (2009). His later collections include The Late Sun and Toys / Tricks / Traps.
