T. R. Fehrenbach (1925–2013) was an American historian, columnist, and author of more than 18 nonfiction books. A native Texan, he became best known for Lone Star, a widely read history of Texas, and also wrote influential military histories including This Kind of War, along with works on the Comanche people, Mexico, and the U.S. Marine Corps. He wrote for publications including the Saturday Evening Post, Argosy, and the San Antonio Express-News.
