Samuel W. Mitcham Jr. is an American military historian and author of more than forty books. His writing focuses primarily on Nazi Germany and World War II, especially military leaders, campaigns, and organizations, as well as the Confederate war effort during the American Civil War. He is a retired professor who taught geography and military history and has appeared in history-related media.
