Matthew Guinn is an Atlanta-born novelist and scholar who holds degrees in English from the University of Georgia, the University of Mississippi, and the University of South Carolina, where he worked as an assistant to James Dickey. His debut novel, The Resurrectionist (2013), was a finalist for the Edgar Award for Best First Novel, followed by the historical mystery The Scribe (2015). He has also written nonfiction on contemporary Southern literature and teaches creative writing in Mississippi.
