V.C. Andrews (Cleo Virginia Andrews, 1923–1986) was an American novelist who achieved international fame with Flowers in the Attic (1979), the first book in her bestselling Dollanganger family saga. Her fiction became known for gothic settings, family secrets, psychological trauma, and forbidden relationships. After her death, author Andrew Neiderman continued writing novels published under the V.C. Andrews name.
