Roopika Risam is a scholar and nonfiction author whose writing examines the intersections of data, race, empire, technology, and digital humanities. She is a professor of Film and Media Studies and Comparative Literature at Dartmouth College, author of New Digital Worlds: Postcolonial Digital Humanities in Theory, Praxis, and Pedagogy, and author of Data Empire: The Power of Information to Organize, Control, and Dominate. She has also co-edited several collections on digital humanities, race, and public scholarship.
