Flora J. Solomon is a historical fiction novelist whose debut, A Pledge of Silence (2015), portrays American military nurses held as prisoners of war in the Philippines during World War II. Her second novel, Along the Broken Bay (2019), is also set in wartime Philippines and follows an American expatriate drawn into the resistance. Solomon relocated from Michigan to the North Carolina coast.
