Bernie Mac (1957–2008), born Bernard Jeffrey McCullough, was a Chicago stand-up comedian, actor, and author whose autobiographical comedy propelled him from the club circuit to The Original Kings of Comedy and The Bernie Mac Show. He wrote I Ain’t Scared of You: Bernie Mac on How Life Is and the memoir Maybe You Never Cry Again, and his motivational reflections were later collected in I Don’t Care If You Like Me, I Like Me.
