Sean McFate is an author, novelist, and foreign-policy expert whose fiction draws on his experience as an Army paratrooper and private military contractor. He writes the Tom Locke military-thriller novels, including Shadow War, Deep Black, and High Treason, and also writes nonfiction on modern warfare, mercenaries, and international security, including The New Rules of War and The Modern Mercenary.
