Ayşe Kulin is a Turkish novelist, short-story writer, journalist, screenwriter, and former television and film art director. She began publishing with the short-story collection Güneşe Dön Yüzünü in 1984 and gained broad recognition with her biographical novel Adı Aylin. Her prolific career has focused on biographical, historical, and socially engaged fiction, with many works translated internationally and adapted for screen.
