Olivia Laing is a British writer and cultural critic whose genre-blending nonfiction combines memoir, biography, literary and cultural criticism, psychoanalysis, and travel writing. They write on art and culture for major publications and have published acclaimed books including To the River, The Trip to Echo Spring, The Lonely City, Everybody, Funny Weather, and The Garden Against Time, as well as the novels Crudo and The Silver Book. Their work has won the Windham-Campbell Prize for nonfiction and the James Tait Black Memorial Prize.
