Maggie Nelson is an American poet, essayist, critic, and scholar whose genre-crossing writing combines poetry, memoir, philosophy, literary and art criticism, and cultural theory. Her acclaimed books include Bluets, The Argonauts, The Art of Cruelty, The Red Parts, The Slicks, and Pathemata, Or, The Story of My Mouth. She is a distinguished professor of English at the University of Southern California and has received fellowships from organizations including the MacArthur Foundation, Guggenheim Foundation, and National Endowment for the Arts.
