Jung Chang is a Chinese-born British author and historian best known for Wild Swans: Three Daughters of China (1991), a bestselling family memoir that launched her writing career. She later wrote major works of modern Chinese history and biography, including Mao: The Unknown Story with Jon Halliday, Empress Dowager Cixi, and Big Sister, Little Sister, Red Sister. Her latest book is Fly, Wild Swans: My Mother, Myself and China (2025), and her books have been translated into more than 40 languages.
