Robert A. Caro is an American journalist and biographer who began his writing career as an investigative reporter for Newsday. He became renowned for deeply researched political biographies, beginning with The Power Broker about Robert Moses and continuing with The Years of Lyndon Johnson, a planned five-volume life of the former president. His memoir Working describes his methods of researching, interviewing, and writing.
