Jennifer Worth (1935–2011) was a British memoirist whose writing drew on her experiences as a nurse and midwife in London's East End during the 1950s. Her bestselling Midwife Trilogy—Call the Midwife (2002), Shadows of the Workhouse (2005), and Farewell to the East End (2009)—combined personal recollection with social history and inspired the BBC television series Call the Midwife. She also wrote In the Midst of Life (2010), about caring for the terminally ill, and Eczema and Food Allergy: The Hidden Cause? (1997).
