Barbara Trapido is a British novelist born in Cape Town, South Africa, who moved to London in 1963 and later settled in Oxford. Her debut, Brother of the More Famous Jack, won the 1982 Whitbread Special Prize for Fiction. She went on to publish acclaimed novels including Noah’s Ark, Temples of Delight, Juggling, The Travelling Hornplayer, Frankie & Stankie, and Sex & Stravinsky, often focusing on family, friendship, culture, and coming of age.
